The London Serene Reflection Meditation Group meets twice a month to meditate together and deepen the practice of the Serene Reflection tradition of Buddhism (known as Ts'ao-Tung Ch'an in China and Soto Zen in Japan).
The group is affiliated with the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. Our principal UK centre is Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey.
When and Where?
1st and 3rd Saturday of the month:
486 Caledonian Road
Near Caledonian Road & Holloway Road tube stations on the Piccadilly Line, or about 10' walk from Caledonian Road & Barnsbury Overground station. Bus routes 91, 17 & 259 stop a few steps away.
Please arrive around 8.45 for a 9am start. There is a bell on the door marked Zen Group.
If you would like to take part in our practice you are welcome to attend the group meetings. The first time you come you will need to learn how to meditate in the Serene Reflection tradition. Someone will be available to give meditation instruction. This usually takes place just before the group meets, but please make an arrangement in advance by using the contacts below.
Please call/text David: 07974 836563.
You may find it helpful to read "Sitting Buddha". It can be listened to or downloaded here. Chapter 2 is particularly useful for your first visit to the group.
We don't make any charge to attend the group meetings or for meditation instruction. There is a donation bowl if you wish to make an offering to help cover room hire and other costs.
